In anticipation of the United States government deciding to license and regulate online gambling, many Las Vegas casinos are working towards establishing an online presence.  In order to establish this presence, certain Vegas casinos have already aligned with major internet casinos to make their transition into the online market much easier.   Unfortunately, the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) isn’t too happy about Vegas casinos jumping the gun because of rumors about licensing and regulation.

In fact, the NGCB has warned Las Vegas casinos to stay away from online gambling until the state of Nevada or the US government has officially made the decision to regulate internet gambling.  The warning was issued because Harah’s Entertainment has already developed an online division within their company, and has made the boldest moves thus far out of any of the Las Vegas casinos.  In addition to this, they already own an online casino that takes bets from people outside of the United States.

But Harrah’s hasn’t done it alone since 888.com has been helping them every step of the way.  888.com is not only working to help Harrah’s with their online gaming division, but they are also supplying the software for the internet casino that Harrah’s is currently running.

So far, there has been no word on what will happen if Harrah’s continues their pursuit of the online markets, but one can guess that it won’t be good for Harrah’s if they continue on the same path.  On the other hand, it’s also hard to see Harrah’s Entertainment totally abandoning their transition into internet gaming since they already own a website, and have developed an online division in their company.  It will be interesting to see what happens in the future with regards to this story.
