The reason why you want to make a 6 or 8 place bet is because they’re extremely easy and simple to do as opposed to memorizing when you can make other craps wagers. Plus the house only has a 1.52% edge with place bets.
Sure you won’t be getting as good of odds as with pass line, don’t pass line, come, and don’t come bets since the house edge is only a bit over 1.4% with these wagers; but you are still getting good enough odds to make this bet with confidence. And the ease that comes with making the 6 and 8 place bets makes things even better.
