craps-tableThe craps table is a fun and exciting place where people are always yelling and cheering for each other – especially if they’re drunk!  Unfortunately, it’s also an intimidating place for beginning gamblers.  In fact, you might feel like the nerd at a party sitting in the corner watching the jocks have fun when looking at the craps table.  After all, you don’t want to play and look like a fool.

Fortunately, there’s a very easy way to get involved in the action without giving the house much of an edge.  Now if you know a little about craps, you might be thinking the common bets like pass line, don’t pass line, come, and don’t come are the easiest way to get involved with craps.  However, this isn’t really the case because you have to actually know what’s going on before you place one of these bets.  And if you mess up in front of the table when doing so, it can be extremely embarrassing.

So what are you to do instead?  Make a place bet on either the 6 or 8!  To make a place bet on 6 or 8, just let the dealer know (you might even let them know you’re new to the game in case you flub up).  The reason why you want to make a 6 or 8 place bet is because they’re extremely easy and simple to do as opposed to memorizing when you can make other craps wagers.  Plus the house only has a 1.52% edge with place bets.

Sure you won’t be getting as good of odds as with pass line, don’t pass line, come, and don’t come bets since the house edge is only a bit over 1.4% with these wagers; but you are still getting good enough odds to make this bet with confidence.  And the ease that comes with making the 6 and 8 place bets makes things even better.
